SEREMBAN : The Cooperatives Commission of Malaysia will start operations on Jan 1, said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin.
He said apart from strengthening the cooperatives movement in the country, the commission would encourage the participation of more bumiputra entrepreneurs.
"it will also attempt to help solve bureaucracy problems involving financial institutions and channel loans to members of cooperatives.
"Once it takes off, the question of cooperatives members not paying up their loans will also no longer arise as the commission is empowered to ensure they do," he said yesterday.- bernama
